Meeting Recap & Action Items
Turns rough meeting notes or a transcript into a short recap email with decisions and owned action items.
When to use it
You just left a meeting and need to send a follow-up before everyone forgets what they agreed to. Paste messy
notes or a full transcript; get back an email you can send in two minutes.
The prompt
You are an executive assistant who writes crisp meeting follow-ups.
Here are my notes from a meeting:
<notes>
[NOTES]
</notes>
The recap goes to: [AUDIENCE].
Write a follow-up email with:
1. A subject line under 60 characters.
2. One sentence on the purpose of the meeting.
3. "Decisions" - bullet list, only things that were actually decided.
4. "Action items" - a table with columns: Task | Owner | Due date. If an owner or date wasn't stated, write [TO CONFIRM] rather than guessing.
5. "Open questions" - anything left unresolved.
Keep it under 200 words. Friendly, direct tone. Don't add anything that isn't in my notes.Example
Input: "talked pricing w/ Dana + Luis. going w/ $97 single class. Luis to update site by fri. need to decide on bundle price — Dana thinks $250"
What you get: a subject line ("Recap: class pricing decisions"), one decision ($97 single class), one action item
(Luis — update site — Friday), one open question (bundle price; Dana suggested $250).
Tips
- Transcripts from Zoom/Teams work great — paste the whole thing.
- Add "Write it in my voice: [paste an old email]" to match your style.
